Six chapters from the history of Rivne
The Lubomirski estate
In the 18th century Rivne had a palace and park belonging to the Lubomirski family. The grounds changed over time, but traces of the former estate remain in local history.
The wooden Dormition Church
The wooden Dormition Church on Shevchenka Street is among Rivne’s oldest surviving buildings. An inscription on the church records the year 1756.
The regional history museum
Rivne Regional Museum preserves archaeological finds, documents, art and everyday objects. Its galleries trace many periods of life in Volhynia.
The Amber Museum
The Amber Museum opened in an early-20th-century building on Symona Petliury Street. Exhibits include natural amber from Polissia, carved pieces and jewellery.
A church transformed into a concert hall
St Anthony’s Catholic church was built in the 19th century. After serving other purposes, it became a chamber and organ music venue in 1987.
The Ulas Samchuk Literary Museum
A museum dedicated to writer Ulas Samchuk adds a literary chapter to the city’s heritage. Its collections explore writing, culture and the memory of the region.
