Local history and heritage
Myroliubivka: the story of two villages becoming one
Kilivka and Lozovyky
Modern Myroliubivka has roots in two separate villages, Kilivka and Lozovyky, both documented in 1732. Each had its own households, local economy and religious life long before the present village name existed.
Watermills, windmills and local industry
Mills operated along the nearby waterways, while distilleries and a kaolin works were part of Lozovyky’s economy. Kilivka, associated with the Tereshchenko estate, had several windmills and oil presses. These were working rural communities, not merely names on a map.
The difficult years
Residents of both villages endured the Holodomor of 1932-1933, political repression and German occupation during the Second World War. The losses suffered by local families remain an important part of their history.
One village, a new name
Kilivka and Lozovyky were merged in 1962 to form Myroliubivka. The current name is relatively recent, while settlement here is documented at least as far back as the eighteenth century.
